Parents: You may have received an email from various members of staff asking you to view a document or view a message contents via a blue, green or red button. These emails are not from our staff members and must be deleted as soon as they have been received. These are phishing emails; it’s a nationwide issue at the moment with it mainly affecting universities. If you have received an email from a member of staff and have clicked the button we urge you to reset your email password as soon as possible. The phishing email, once clicked will create a chain reaction, sending the same email out to your address book and recently sent email contacts.
Our IT support are working with Microsoft to block the message. However, due to the sophisticated nature of the email, they are constantly changing key identifiers which make it harder to block. Please do take a look at this website https://www.cpni.gov.uk/dont-take-bait to find out more information on how you can reduce your vulnerability to these attacks.
