Students are taught in mixed attainment groups in Key Stage 3, where students will develop their understanding of Number, Algebra, Ratio and Proportion, Geometry, Probability and Statistics. All students are exposed to mathematical tasks that excite, stretch and enable them to progress at their own pace.
Students will also be encouraged to take advantage of the KS3 Revision Hub which includes revision material, useful revision link, enrichment activities and much more to enhance their independent revision.
Students then progress to 'sets' in Key Stage 4 where each set follows a tailored stage of learning. This builds on their knowledge acquired from Key Stage 3 and develops problem-solving and reasoning skills in these core areas of Mathematics. For our most able mathematicians, we offer a Free Standing Maths Qualification (FSMQ) Additional Mathematics qualification. This course provides candidates with an introduction to the mathematics studied post–16, including AS and A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics.
In Year 11, students will complete the curriculum and prepare for their GCSE examination through past papers and areas of development identified from their mock examinations. Throughout the year students will be supported and guided by their teachers to ensure they are fully prepared and have the best possible opportunities to fulfil their potential.
Students will also be encouraged to take advantage of the KS4 Revision Hub which includes revision material, past papers, useful revision links and much more to enhance their independent revision.
