PTA Coronation Afternoon Tea
In celebration of the Coronation of King Charles III, the PTA organised a wonderful afternoon tea.
It wouldn’t be a Spring event in England without a bit of drizzle - but just as the school bell rang out, it didn’t just rain, it poured.
Having chased a marquee half-way across the field just moments before the crowds arrived, the organisers could have been forgiven for cancelling the event.
But that wouldn’t have been a very British thing to do.
Thankfully, the downpour stopped and within minutes the sun came out too.
Queues quickly formed at the ice cream vans and sweet stall, as families closed their brollies and rolled out their picnic blankets to enjoy sandwiches, scones and fresh cream cakes. Pupils enjoyed traditional games whilst parents enjoyed a glass or two of Pimms.
