Design and Technology

Design and Technology at The Royal: Product Design

Design Technology is a subject which gives students the opportunity to practice and develop a wide variety of skills and processes. Students learn how to gather research materials from a variety of sources and use their editing and analytical skills to sift through the information.

The Design Technology department is well equipped, with a wide range of tools and equipment continually under review.
Current teacher’s experience includes: Design Technology B.Ed (hons). City & Guild motor Vehicle studies (distinction). Five years experience in the manufacturing industry (Production Engineering). Fifteen years GCSE teaching experience and ten years experience teaching A’ level Design Technology and Electronics/Systems & Control.

Previous Product Design results have been very high with excellent value added scores.
