Religious Studies

The Royal School has a vibrant theological community and its very own Chapel. The RS department has a strong philosophy department with exciting debates on the existence of God, the Inconsistent Triad and Ontological Argument. We delve into Christianity and have Bible study.

Ethics is the first unit for Religious Studies (sometimes named Philosophy and Ethics) at The Royal School and examines issues such as euthanasia, abortion and life after death.  The second unit is philosophy of religion which examines the role of God combatting evil, religious language and religious experiences such as the stigmata. The skills you can develop include building up the ability to produce a high quality argument with advanced critical analysis. Finally, we examine Christianity and the role of miracles in forming judgement on whether God exists.
