Careers

Welcome to the careers section, Our named Careers Leader is Chris Howells and he can be contacted at ch@theroyal.school or on 01902 341230.

The aim of our School Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEAIG) programme is to develop the skills, attitudes and abilities of our students to enable them to make effective decisions about their future education, training and employment. Young people’s careers are forged out of their experience, progress and achievements in learning and work. All our students have access to a planned programme of Careers Education which provides opportunities to develop and apply the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to make realistic career decisions.

The Royal School provides independent careers advice and guidance service which is staffed by an experienced and impartial fully qualified careers advisor.

Our careers and guidance adviser here at The Royal School is Emma Withington.  Emma has had many years of experience working with children and adults in various settings advising them about careers education.

She has extensive knowledge of the local labour market and uses this to inform and guide his interviews. Emma is able to provide guidance around Further Education options, University choices, apprenticeships and the alternatives to University.

Working across Years 7-13, Emma will be able to inform our pupils’ destinations, raise aspirations and provide personalised support and encouragement.

Emma can be contacted via email at ewithington@theroyal.school
