Pupil Premium Funding
About Pupil Premium
As a Free School, The Royal is entitled to a certain amount of Pupil Premium funding to help narrow the gap between the performance of different students and different groups of students.
Funding is allocated based on the number of pupils we have in School who have been eligible for free school meals in the past 6 years. The money does not go directly to the family but must be used by the School each year for the benefit of all Pupil Premium pupils.
As a Free school, we pledge that the funding we receive will be carefully invested into specific projects to:
- Ensure that all students make better than expected progress in relation to their starting points and that students are academically competent and have a well-developed range of reading, writing, communication and mathematical skills.
- Make sure that our students understand themselves as learners, know how to ‘problem-solve’ and become increasingly independent, as well as being emotionally resilient and enjoy positive relationships in school by being the very best they can be.
- Encourage students to be confident in themselves, enjoy school and attend regularly and that they are supported and challenged to have the highest possible aspirations for themselves regarding future plans.
