Wellbeing in Action

At Home

Partnership with parents is an important part of our Royal School community.  We offer a range of support to families both academically and pastorally in order to allow all of our children to thrive in school and at home.

We believe that by working together with families, we will secure the best outcomes for our children, whether that is pastoral support, home learning, support with behaviour or help at difficult times such as through illness or bereavement.

In the Classroom

Your child’s class teacher is the member of staff they will see most of on a daily basis.  They will know your child best and communicate with you successes and concerns over the course of the school year.  We believe in forming a strong relationship with parents so that information about your child or children can be shared in order for us to support you and your family.

In the classroom, PSHE is taught as part of the curriculum, focusing on key age-appropriate issues such as families, friendships and solving problems. We focus on the school’s core values which sit at the heart of everything we do and children are encouraged to relate their thoughts and feelings back to these.

On the Playground

We are lucky to have so much outdoor space at the Royal and we encourage our children to use this creatively as exercise and fresh air is integral to wellbeing.

Lunchtimes can be a difficult time for some of our youngsters, staff organise games with children to encourage the building of relationships across and between peer groups as well as stimulating learning and imagination through play.
